[Kit-001] Magnetometer - Gradiometer Kit

This kit is great for Prospectors/Archaeologists/Treasure Hunters.
Fat Quarters Software is pleased to announce this new kit which contains 2 FGM-3 sensors, a PC Board for use with the Speake & Co. SCL-007 gradiometer ASIC and a parts kit containing all the electronic components for the PC board.
In addition to the basic gradiometer circuit as shown in the application note for the SCL-007, Gradiometer ASIC, the board also includes circuitry for a voltage controlled oscillator and audio amplifier sufficient to drive a small speaker for an audible output indicating the presence of a magnetic anomaly.
NOT INCLUDED: The speaker, battery holder, 2 pots and the enclosure.
THe VCO and PC board design was developed by Carl Moreland who has posted details on his website (go to the Links page for a URL link). The text, schematic diagram, and construction details on Carl's website are part of an article which appeared in the May 2001 issue of Poptronics magazine.

[Kit-002] Single Axis Magnetometer for Earth Field Studies

This kit contains all of the components required to construct a sensitive magnetometer to monitor changes in the earth earth's field during solar disturbances.
The kit, once assembled, can be operated for short periods of time from batteries BUT for continuous monitoring, a 9 to 15 volt regulated supply capable of 50 mA current should be used (not included in kit).
